The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
BevK October 28th, 2005
Our household is pretty excited about the new The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movie coming out this Christmas. We’ll have everyone home then, and I expect we’ll all go see the movie together even if some of us have already seen it. Champing at the bit and all that.
Taking advantage of the movie, Harper Collins, which has the publishing rights to the Chronicles of Narnia, had come out with a number of books for every age group. They have a couple of picture books, two I Can Read step books (one just out and the other due to be released in November), a new gift edition boxed set of the books, Beyond the Wardrobe - an official guide, and The Chronicles of Narnia Adult Unabridged CD Box Set which came out last summer. Then there’s a spate of Narnia books by other publishers. I thought Intervarsity Press’s A Field Guide to Narnia looked good. You can see the selection of what’s available at the EHO bookstore.
At EHO, we’ll be posting a review of that book as well as, Inside Narnia: A Guide to Exploring the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the Progeny Press study guide for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and a Teaching Company lecture series on CS Lewis.
Already posted reviews include:
A Family Guide to Narnia
Update: I was remiss in not posting the movie site’s URL. Here it is.

Oh, and do enter through the wardrobe. Don’t click the skip link. Check out the educational resources, too. There’s an educator’s guide with lesson plans, music lessons, and an online interactive tool to build and then print your own coat of arms.
